At the Institute for Effectiveness in Higher Education, we believe the spirit of community and collaboration is a big part of what makes working in the field of higher ed so rewarding. Since we have greatly benefited–both as an organization and as individuals–from this culture of sharing ideas and best practices, we feel it only makes sense to do our part to embrace and uphold this tradition. We are committed to exploring new ideas and actively pursing ways to use data to increase the effectiveness of higher education institutions.
Traditional student success metrics don’t fit an institution that serves non-traditional students. IEHE’s national RealityCheck project has developed useable metrics for ALL students, using existing data already reported to IPEDS. Senior leaders at colleges and universities can obtain a free sneak peek of their RealityCheck rates that are part of research project. Learn more about the national research project on RealityCheck.
IEHE has created a free student survey that gives you the chance to connect with your students and ask them what the need from you during these challenging times. There is NO additional burden on your institution because IEHE will administer the survey, provide you the results, and offer a few suggestions for next steps. All of this is free, simply because it is the right thing to do. Learn more about the Ask Our Students survey.
The Postcollege Outcomes Clearinghouse serves as a repository for available resources, with a particular focus on research and resources related to best practices for gathering, analyzing, and using employment data from higher ed completors.
