Kristina ‘KP’ Powers Selected for the Future of Privacy Forum’s Train the Trainer Program
IEHE is proud to announce that IEHE’s president, Kristina ‘KP’ Powers, has been selected to participate in the Future of Privacy Forum’s Train the Trainer Program. Funded by the Gates Foundation, the program has three objectives for participants:
- Knowledge: Expand and deepen student privacy and security knowledge.
- Networking: Establish ongoing relationships with a close cohort of student privacy professionals.
- Training: Acquire resources and relationships needed to train and influence others.
Throughout the program, participants will develop resources to empower others to protect student privacy, including a personalized student privacy training toolkit, and foster a network of like-minded peers.
KP currently provides accreditation support and data compliance services to colleges and universities through the Institute for Effectiveness in Higher Education. In these engagements, she frequently finds herself providing guidance and information on the use, transportation, and allowable access of student data — especially for reporting purposes. “The Train the Trainer program was appealing not only for the content, but to form connections with others who also share an interest in student privacy data/information — and training others” she said.
“I look forward to participating in this prestigious program, building upon my existing student privacy expertise, and teaching best practices for protecting student data and information” said Dr. Powers.
