12 Nov Kristina Powers Joins NC-SARA Data Advisory Committee
We’re pleased to announce that IEHE’s president, Kristina Powers, is the latest addition to the NC-SARA Data Advisory Committee. She joined the NC SARA team October 2020.
Kristina is a thought leader across higher education and President of IEHE. This has made her a valuable contributor to organizations that value a data culture and want to elevate data as part of their decision-making strategy. So, she was a natural fit to serve on the NC-SARA Data Advisory Committee. Kristina has over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, teaching and data analysis. Dr. Powers specializes in data strategy, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, IPEDS, and using external data internally for improvement. In her role as president of the IEHE, she provides leadership and project management to colleges and universities to build capacity in the areas of accreditation, institutional research, and data-driven decision-making support.
Kristina’s research focuses on student success metrics, particularly retention and graduation rates for all student groups, as well as the management of effective and efficient IR offices that advance the institutional mission.
Kristina’s data-focused perspective will be a valuable addition to the NC-SARA Data Advisory Committee.

Its mission is to:
- provide broad access to postsecondary education opportunities to students across the country,
- increase the quality and value of higher learning credentials earned via distance education, and
- assure students are well served in a rapidly changing education landscape.
